Go Green Fund Raising Opportunity


“Go Green” Youth Fundraising Opportunity in Conjunction with
Fair Grounds Garbage Cleanup

Who:  Youth Groups


Go Green” program is being developed to address the recycling of pop cans, juice bottles, water bottles…  The successful youth group will be responsible for placing the barrels in the Fair Grounds, picking up the recycling on a regular basis during the 5 day event and moving contents to the designated area.  They will also be responsible for sorting the recycling and disposing of what is not saleable into the garbage bins provided.                     
YOUTH GROUP WILL RECEIVE:  the money created from all of the recycle cans/bottles.

Fair Grounds Garbage Cleanup:  Garbage cleanup around the food booths, fair grounds and grandstand area.  This does NOT include the garbage pickup around the chuckwagons and parking area for sponsors.

Where: Dawson Creek Exhibition Association Fair Grounds

When:  From August 6 – August 10, 2014

Why: To provide a win-win situation: the youth of our area receive an opportunity for fundraising and it will teach youth about the importance of and how each of us in our small way can help the planet.

The “Go Green” project will also include a poster contest open to all youth groups.  Three successful winners will be chosen to have their art work to be the labels for the recycling barrels.  Cash prizes as followed will be offered; 1st prize: $100.  Show us your talents Dawson Creek!
The posters must include reference to the following:

  • Dawson Creek Exhibition Goes Green
  • Recycle your pop cans in the barrel provided
  • Proceeds go to Youth Group
  • BC Fairs and the Province of BC
