Jessica Lavoie is an 18 year old farm girl from Debolt, Alberta, and graduated from Ridgevalley School in 2016. She grew up on a horse farm, and has participated in 4h, trail riding, showing, gymkhana and jumping.

She recently started a company called New Life Equine Services where she currently teaches Equine First Aid classes and will eventually operate an Equine Assisted Learning facility that focuses on abused youth, and people suffering from PTSD.

Jessica has held two previous pro rodeo queen titles, and has been preparing to represent the Grande Prairie Stompede since her first title as Miss Teepee Creek Stampede 2014. She was also the 2015 High Prairie Elks Pro Rodeo Queen and plans to run for the Miss Rodeo Canada 2019 title!

Being a rodeo queen has taught Jessica professionalism, how to put on a smile no matter the situation and given her many valuable contacts for future endeavors. She hopes to not only represent the Grande Prairie Stompede and the great sport of rodeo, but also the City of Grande Prairie and its surrounding areas.

“I am extremely honoured and grateful to have been crowned Miss Grande Prairie Stompede 2017. I am looking forward to travelling throughout Alberta promoting rodeo and the western lifestyle. I would like to thank my sponsors, family, and friends for supporting me as I follow my rodeo queen dream. It wouldn’t be possible without the support of these amazing people”.
