INSIDE THE WATERIN’ HOLE
Cole Malone is a Alberta Country Music Nominated (Male Artist of the year, Fans Choice) singer/song writer.
Raised in Perth, Ontario, Cole knew from a very young age that music would be his life, his soul and he would pursue it with a love that would stay with him through it all. “I remember being around 8 or 9 at my parent’s friends’ house and singing ‘The River’ by Garth Brooks over and over with a man who had his acoustic there”. That was the hook and, at age 11, Cole gave up every other young boy’s dream, sold his ATV and bought his first electric guitar and amp. The budding young musician took the first tentative steps to pursuing his dream and began writing songs, practicing non-stop and trying to get it “just right”. Throughout his High School and College years, Cole played in many different bands – mostly rock or alternative music – and built the foundation of his definitive live performance. A move west to Calgary in 2004 saw Cole taking big steps towards his music career as he earned a reputation as a skilled and entertaining live performer and as a finalist in many live performance music competitions eventually earning the top prize in the Rising Star contest for 96.5 CKFM Radio and launching a new chapter in his musical journey.
Fueled by success and quickly earning credibility in music industry circles, Cole took his first big step into Country Music by signing a Development Contract with a small Alberta management company.
The next 18 months saw Cole touring and showcasing frequently throughout Western Canada and he took every opportunity to grow his craft and learn the ins and outs in the music business. “I learned quickly that the music business can tear you apart if your head and heart are not in the right place”. Rising to any challenges that cross his path, Cole has developed professionalism, determination and a solid work ethic that has allowed him to share the stage with such notable artists as The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Julian Austin, One More Girl and many more.
2015 was a career-defining year for Cole. As the winner of the Calgary Stampede’s highly competitive “Nashville North Star” competition, and as a showcasing artist at the ‘Somewhere In Alberta’ Showcase and Royalty Records Showcase at Canadian Country Music Week (CCMA). Cole released his first commercial radio single ” Half the Bottle” on February 1st, 2016 with the support of Royalty Records and other top-notch industry professionals. Although a veteran of the Canadian Country Music scene, in some ways Cole’s journey has just begun. His significant talent combined with industry support, determination and solid work ethic will ensure a bright future for him in the world of Country music.
